Last year we did books, rabbit and spring themed, and some wooden play foods for our toddler.
Great ideas, Melissa! Our little board book Spring would be a great gift for a toddler’s baset. A wooden toy carrot makes a addition for an older child’s basket that can later be used in a play kitchen.
I remember the year my Easter basket was lined with green wool batting. That was wonderful! I was just discovering needle-felting, and that gave me the material I needed to explore the art for myself! It was eco-friendly and my brothers and sisters and I liked it very much.
Yes, Childwanderer, green wool roving is another great alternative to use in an Easter Basket instead of plastic grass!
Just wondering who is the artist that made the beautiful Spring print on your wall? I’m secretly hoping they did an Autumn version!
The artist is Mary Azarian, Amy, and I am a huge fan of her work! There is an Autumn version. She is also the illustrator of several children’s books, including A Farmer’s Alphabet, A Gardener’s Alphabet and Snowflake Bentley (a Caldecott Award winner). Hey, I think I need to carry these at Bella Luna Toys!

Our family frequently drives along I-70 to and from Indianapolis/St. Louis. Along that road there is a store called Driftstone Pueblo. They sell so many beautiful natural items like rocks, arrowheads, feathers, etc. They also have beautiful stone eggs. I am hoping to stop and get some of these for the basket this year. They will make a beautiful addition to the nature corner long after Easter. Perhaps I’ll also grab a few geodes. Kids always love those.
