My two girls love their playsilks, which are used each and every day in many creative ways. Our early Waldorf experience set us on the path of simple, mainly wooden toys, that has lead to open-ended play. We love sites like yours, as there’s no place in our area to buy these kinds of wonderful products.

I love your selection of products and my daughter and her friends ADORE the beautiful princess dress-up gown. I must say though, I do a great deal of on-line shopping, and your customer service is by far the best! You take such good care of your customers, thank you. We will definitely be returning to your site over the years. I will be checking out your blog regularly too!

I love the simple wooden toys like tree blocks. You can’t get much better than bringing nature inside for children to create and imagine with. Wood is perfect for that and so easy to identify with for children.

moonchild, I love the name. my daughter has benefited to grow her self expression with the teachings of Rudolf Steiner. If he were alive today, we would have a great talk about how to love and nurture our children in the world and to remember the phases of the moon.

I don’t have Twitter. So, I went on my Facebook profile page and posted a link to your giveaway and blog. I also made it my Facebook status update too so people can see it from their pages! 🙂 I love your store and blog. I also have your book too and can’t wait to read it!

I bought the beeswax crayons for my son. He loves them and can easily hold the square shape in his small hands. AND an added bonus: they don’t roll off the table in restaurants!

I love how natural and soft wooden toys feel to a child’s soft hand. It’s a natural compliment. Plastic toys are sensory overload to a toddler and young child. The color, smell, and feel of a wooden toy just can’t be matched by that of plastic or synthetics!

what else should be in the hands to play with…. wood, beeswax – oh maybe dirt! It’s always such a great thing to pass along some of these at birthday parties – or to new friends – that haven’t had the experience yet!!

I love all the imaginative play that comes from the simple wooden toys. We have your wooden helicopter and while most days it goes, whirrrrr, some days it becomes a bird, or an airplane, or even a bus or a mouse.

I love natural materials for crafting. The feel of wool, cotton, and silk as they travel through our hands is a wonderful thing to share with my children as we work together. Thank you for this opportunity!

i love the silk fishing game (it’s so hard to pick just ONE item from your site, i love so many of them). I love the textures of Steiner toys (silk, wood, wool, felt etc) and the sizing of many toys, the tiny gnomes, the beeswax crayons for example – it all seems so child friendly to me, and the anti-thesis of mainstream plastic toys that i often feel are anti-child. I’ve subscribed to your blog, pressed LIKE on your FB page (can’t see the “become a fan” button anymore), have posted a link on my own FB page to the silk fishing game on your site.
There is so much UGLY in the world, i think it’s beautiful that Steiner play items offer so much BEAUTY, to try to counterbalance that.

Child’s Wooden Washer and Dryer – I absolutely love this!
My daughter asked me a while back for a washer and dryer out of the blue…
I’m not sure if she saw on somewhere…
Anyway – this one is great. I think it is so important that you can spin it!

I like the updates on the web site too!

I love the aesthetics of Waldorf toys and classrooms. The natural toys and environment are so calming and so welcome as respite for children from today’s overstimulating world. I like the open-endedness of Waldorf toys.

We prefer natural wooden toys because they are safe and beautiful. Buying natural toys often supports smaller businesses. Natural toys encourages imaginative and creative play.

there is nothing like having a toy made of natural fibers and even better if hand made. such objects radiate warmth and i definitely notice that my daughter has a greater pulll towards natural waldorf style toys. she will play with them for longer periods of time and return to them again and again. honestly the few plastic toys we have are often discarded quickly and are not loved in nearly the way our waldorf doll, for instance, is.
    great blog and site sarah!

My seven year-old grandson has been playing the Orchard game since he was two. His understanding of the game and the consequences (sometimes the bird wins!) has grown as he has grown. The game is perfect in so many ways: beautifully crafted; the little fruits made of wood; sweet little baskets; sturdy playboard and puzzle pieces; and, sometimes best of all – quickly completed. No long drawn-out back-to-the-beginning sort of activity.

I bought a large Evi Waldorf doll for each of my girls for their birthdays this year. My girls are 10 & 7 and I worried that my oldest daughter would feel too old to play with her doll. Boy was I wrong! She tends to her doll more carefully than her younger sister. Each doll has a wooden bed made by Daddy & wardrobes hand sewn by their “mothers.”

I’ve found that the simplest & most natural toys are often the favorites.

I like the natural wooden toys because when the children play with them, they have to use their imaginations. These toys don’t have any movie-characters on them, they are simple and colorful. I would choose this type of toy because the children can play real-life activity with them.

I am passionate about children’s literature and music education.
Your wonderful site offers both and I thank you!

I especially love Elsa Beskow. She had 6 sons and I have 3 grandsons. She wrote about a forest elf rescuing a small bird egg.

Curious Fish looks like a wonderful picture book!
