already a fb fan, subscriber, etc. my son with special needs tends to do a lot of mouthing. Though we are not purists when it comes to natural toys, I do feel better about him having cloth or wood during these phases.

Our favorite toys are the wooden sailboats. We choose natural toys when my son was born because of the toxicity in plastic toys. That led us down the path of becoming a Waldorf inspired home. Natural toys are more durable, ecofriendly and beautiful

Wow Sarah! I can’t even begin to imagine moving all of the inventory during a Maine winter. Must have been something. I so appreciate all that you do for parents and Waldorf education. As a Waldorf teacher I teach parent-child classes, and use your resources frequently. Thank you so much for all that you do–seen and unseen.

      Warmly,
      Monika (in Kansas)

We love buying waldorf toys and wooden toys especially. They encourage children to use their imagination and the wooden toys last so much longer than any cheap, plastic, mass produced toy could.

    Hi!
I just went AGAIN to visit your site and found a new item I never look at, this one http://www.bellalunatoys.com/houseplay/items/cookware/beeswaxpolish.htm …it is a really good idea!! I love that!! Why I choose waldorf toys…well because they are precious. I like the “warm” feeling that they bring to your home and the children just love them. The fact that they are all made with nature material is so important…children feel that too!!

    I love this: http://www.bellalunatoys.com/silksdressups/items/playthings/sea-pets.htm
It is so important to me to have natural toys for my children. I feel it is important for them to have a toy that is made of natural materials because it is safe, eco-friendly, and can be kept as an heirloom. It’s also something that can provide a warm and tactile sensory experience.

The hybrid car is so fun. I love wood and it feels so good in your hands. The connection between a tree and a toy can help a child value their items and know that they will last a life time if they care for them. How great is it that my daughter’s children could enjoy the toys that she had. The house play items are my favorite.

I just “subscribed to your newsletter”. I have to say, I also love the colored pencils. I’ve used them for years in my classroom. I would love a set for my kids.

  • Reply Areta June 6, 2010 at 10:33 pm

I love that waldorf toys inspire my children and are open-ended so they can use each toy as they grow for more than just one use. They can really build their own little world!!!

  • Reply Lauren Elliott June 6, 2010 at 11:07 pm

I love natural/waldorf toys for many reasons (non-toxic, beautiful, warm to touch) but I am constantly amazed at the imaginative play they inspire in my children. Each toy has had hundreds of different uses in our home. I took a look at your new products and am so excited to see bees wax polish. I have been meaning to institute a polishing day in our routine but have not known where to track down the polish. Many thanks for the generous giveaway.

Wow what a great giveaway! Thanks for the chance. My daughter loves waldorf toys

  • Reply Hallie June 6, 2010 at 11:19 pm

I first heard aboutthe Waldorf approach to learning and toys, from a friend a few years ago and was intrigued right away! I started reading more about it and slowly transitioning our girls’ toys from that yucky plastic to the natural toys of wood and fabrics. I can’t even begin to discribe the difference it has had on them and on our household in general. There is no denying that if you were to compare the plastic playfood that we used to have, to the amazing woodenones, there would be no comparison…I will be forever in debt to the Waldorf community for caring about everything my children come in contact with… I would be so excited to win this giveaway and could alread tell you what I would use it for! Stockmar paint would be at the top of that list!!! Crossing my fingers now!
