We love wooden toys because they inspire creativity and are safe for our children. Durable and simple, they will last for all of our children to enjoy!

We buy wooden toys for their quality and their enduring nature. THe boys would play with new items for 3 days when we bought more commercialized things……3 days and they were done. once we purged our plastic toys and bought wooden toys, they return to them again and again–always coming up with new ways to play with them.

I much prefer toys made from natural materials for my own children and the children at my school. There are many reasons, but the top ones are:
    – Natural materials feel better on the skin. Plastic feels awful, one you get used to wood and cotton and silk. Plastic gets static-y and feels cheap. I want the children to experience beauty through all their senses
-Plastic toys tend to be ugly, junky, and have corporate catoon symbols on them. I want the children to grow up to be discerning consumers, focusing on useful things and ultimately people rather than things, and ignoring fads for what they are. and of course, the beauty thing.
    – Versatility, as has been said. Plain blocks, a rocking board, stones, sand, simple dolls… these can serve many children as many play objects, I want toys that awaken creativity, not toys that deaden creativity and awaken materialism!
-Children are overstimulated by the world today. I want to create peaceful play environments that bring the children inner harmony, and only simple natural toys can be part of this.
-In the long run, plastic toys will be trash that will be in a landfill forever, natural materials can be used for generations and can someday be compost.

I love that the wooden toys are so hardy! The silks have proven perfect for stroller activities during our Stroller Strides classes!

What I love most about the toys that you sell is that they inspire creativity and imagination in my daughter. The “plastic toys” that do everything for the child do not, in my opinion, offer anything of value! Bella Luna Toys sells what I consider to be the finest toys on the market today. Everything is high quality so I know that I can pass these along to other children who can be inspired by them as well.

i love the natural toys, because my 3 year old and 6 month old can both play with them!

What I love most about them is that my little one loves them and that loving hands crafted them.
    Thanks!

Waldorf toys are REAL toys. In my opinion, the plastic, brighlty colored, electronic “toys” that are mass produced are so awful and non conducive to an imaginative, creative, and playful childhood. I strive to provide my children with high quality, open play toys and the toys you offer are exactly that!

Although my daughter is grown I have always liked toys made from natural materials and those that spark the imagination. It is also wonderful that you have art supplies that are safe and natural too. These were not available when my daughter was small. I am now a Postpartum Doula and Nanny and I recommend your products to my clients whenever I can. If I won this wonderful contest I would purchase toys for my yet to be born grandkids.
I am signed up for emails too.

I love the waldorf dolls as they have such gorgeous features that make you want to hold and cuddle them. Fantastic.

  • Reply Susan Sproul June 1, 2010 at 7:54 pm

I raised five children and supplied them with natural toys. I now enjoy my three year granddaughter and am delighted when I can replicate the same toys that HER Mommy had when she was a little girl. Recently Emmaline and I enjoyed playing with Stockmar beeswax which made for a delightful and relaxing afternoon for us both!
